Photo and text by Ben Mikha BenMikha | I’ve been chasing waterfalls for as long as I can remember. Earlier this year I made a trip out to Iguazu, Argentina to see one of natures mighty wonders. There are 275 grand waterfalls spread across 2.7kms (1.67miles) which make up the beautiful Iguazu falls, I spent the entire day here and still didn’t manage to see them all. I took this photo from the top of Garganta Del Diablo or the “The Devils throat” which is basically the peak of the drop. The down pour is so heavy yet the base is home to many birds who occasionally put on an air show flying up through the mist. The two tones you see in the water is blue and a murky brown, the latter being the result of deforestation in the Amazon. Because so many trees have been cleared, there’s an excess of soil which drifts in to the river and is carried down stream, sadly causing a lot of problems for the exotic wild life here in Iguazu.
