These Bimini lemon sharks (Negaprion brevirostris) may only be ~60cm long and around 1 year of age but they're already demonstrating and fine tuning their social skills. Some sharks are 'social butterflies' who regularly interact with different individuals whereas others show very strong preferences for particular individuals e.g their 'friends'! All sharks are held by biminisharklab in semi captive pens for a number of weeks before being released back into the wild. .
