ICYMI: Mariners pitcher Marco Gonzales was named the teams nominee for the Roberto Clemente award this year. Award is “bestowed annually to the player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field” Marco and his wife Monica have led efforts in the Pacific Northwest to raise awareness and funds to support research for Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) which is a rare, degenerative neurological disorder that impacted their family in 2016. Marco has also worked with the Home Plate Project, the Coalition against Domestic Violence and more.
