Last Friday at Dove Missions 🕊 we had a famous Dominican, singer/composer visit us: Xiomara Fortuna! 🎤 🎼 Xiomara has dedicated over 40 years to the art! She promised to bring the kids a guitar 🎸 and drum 🥁 teacher, to aid their musical learning. Xiomara will also come back to Dove to run a casting to assess which kids have the ability to sing! 🎶 Furthermore, she intends to speak to the people of Casa de Cultura (House of Culture) to try and get funds so the kids can have music. 🎭 On the day, Xiomara spoke to the kids about having a culture of peace, filled with positive things. She also enlightened the kids that they themselves must be the change as they are the future. ✨❤️ The kids were also taught some musical culture, such as what is Merengue and which instruments are used. 🥁 Xiomara also performed popular Dominican songs to the kids!
