I was NEVER good at it. But as I got older and started to athletically mature, I realized how important stability and mechanics were.
As a pole, it’s obviously a lot harder to shoot consistently. Once you are comfortable with the mechanics and movements, it’s simple and effective. Here are some tips:
- Point your butt end where you want to shoot
- Keep the stick away from your body and hide the head of your stick
- Shoot OVERHAND. Goalies have a hard time tracking it.
- Before you follow through, keep your front elbow up and snap your hips towards the goal
