The BUGATTI Divo is now on display in Molsheim’s Place de L’Hôtel de Ville in a specially commissioned illuminated glass cube. Night or day, thousands of Molsheim locals and visitors can appreciate it in intricate detail.
The man who honored BUGATTI’s coach-built masterpiece with his name, recently celebrated his 127th birthday: Albert Divo. Born on 24 January 1895 in Paris and baptized under the name Albert Eugène Diwo, the young Frenchman displayed a phenomenal understanding of technically complex systems and quickly got to grips as a technician and as a pilot in the First World War while continuing to work on the ground as a mechanic. The adrenaline rush was what lifted him into the sky and pushed him onto the road as a racing driver.
