BUGATTI and
little.cars have taken part in this year’s gpicerace with a BUGATTI Type 51 and BUGATTI Baby II, based on the most successful racing car of all times, the BUGATTI Type 35. This year’s adrenaline-fueled event - called ICEolated - took place on the Flugplatz in Zell am See, and did not include spectators. When the Type 35 raced in period, up to 10,000 visitors stood on Zell’s frozen lake in Austria, while cars and competitors flew by.
The
little.cars BUGATTI Baby II ‘ice spec’ Pur Sang, painted in French racing blue, acted as a safety car for the event. The car boasted studded tires, a limited slip differential, a 1930s-inspired racing livery with gpicerace branding and safety car-style hazard lights.
BUGATTI’s experience on ice goes way back. In 1960, a Type 35 inaugurated the ice race in Zell am See alongside two motorcycles, with an aeroplane flying at low level above the start line.
