As a player, @kyleharrison18 spoke to people in a multitude of ways. For me, growing up a basketball player in NC, Kyle was the first player that felt familiar to me. We saw the game the same way. His game made sense to me. It was in a language I understood. So much so that I loved watching Kyle play, even as he constantly tormented my Dukies while he was at Hopkins. I have been lucky enough to meet Kyle a few times and have some conversations with him throughout the years. It's those moments I will tell my grandkids about. Sure, I will show them the goals, and the faceoffs. I will teach them the shake and the jump shot. But I will always speak the most about who he is. The time he spent with fans. The connection he could establish even in just a few moments. The leader he became both in the game and for social justice.
