Today’s the first day of spring which means warmer days spent outside are just around the corner (just don’t focus on the next few days). It also means we need to continue to think about our water use amid ongoing drought concerns facing Calgary (and area). Everyday changes to routines can save the average household hundreds of litres every month: 🚿 Taking shorter showers 👚 Washing only full loads in your dishwasher or washing machine 🪥 Turning off the tap when brushing your teeth or shaving It doesn’t stop with you though; we’re also doing our part. You can expect to see: ✨ City vehicles to look less sparkly clean 🌳 Park spaces might be less green ⛲ Many display fountains will be taking a break Where outdoor water use is still needed, we will be wise about how it is used. This includes reusing stormwater to water some golf courses, park spaces and flower baskets, and using efficient irrigation systems that use up to 30 per cent less water to keep sports turf intact.
