I was never a gardener, but I got to watch Emily’s passion for it grow ever since Albany. She went from a nice sized plot in a community garden to nothing but a few things in a raised bed and a small hydroponic system in Bridgeport. Since then she had a dream about building her own oasis, and here it is. Since moving into a house in March 2020, we built 17 raised beds (with a metal one, & greenhouse on the way) spanning over roughly 1200 sq ft. We spent a lot of time and effort building the beds, moving soil, building out the design, flow, and irrigation system. It’s also a sentimental piece. It is a combination of tools that were passed down from my grandfather to us which we utilized throughout the entire process (I’m surprised the wheelbarrow hasn’t broken yet) & Emily’s grandfather’s passion and love of gardening and wood working.
