#KatyPerry might have a new real estate law named after her— but it's not what you think. She and husband #OrlandoBloom are currently in a legal battle with 84 year old Carl Westcott, founder of 1-800-Flowers, due to the purchase of his $15 million mansion in Montecito, California. According to court documents, Westcott filed a lawsuit against Bernie Gudvi, Perry's agent, because he wasn't of sound mind when he agreed to sell his home in 2020. Perry and her manager won't back down from the deal, and now, all parties are involved in a contentious court case that inspired The PERRY Act, which aims to protect seniors from bad real estate transactions. It hasn't gone through any legislative process yet, but the act is endorsed by more than 30 politicians. Link in bio for what we know about the real estate battle. ✏️: Today 📷: Getty
