✨The greatest characteristic an individual can utilize is to just “listen”.
✨“Silence” is the most powerful skill/intervention one can use in therapeutic relationships as well as in non-therapeutic relationships.
✨As individuals when we are engaging in trauma-informed care, it is imperative to provide a safe space for clients (or friends, family members, loved ones, etc.) to share their trauma narrative.
✨This can be done by three essential characteristic’s Carl Roger’s (Humanistic Psychologist) states is significant for a therapist to have:
1. The therapist is 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐭 with the client.
2. The therapist provides the client with 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝.
3. The therapist shows an 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 understanding to the client.
