When Marcie Allen heard what happened, she was sick to her stomach, which is why the pair decided to throw Hayes and their friends an "all-inclusive" prom where they can "feel safe to express themselves."⁠ ⁠ The prom will be held at their event space on May 6, with a performance by local R&B artist #ToneStith. Marcie Allen and Derek created a #GoFundMe page to raise money, and are so close to reaching their $40,000 goal.
