Today we celebrated Jewell's first Black female graduate, Audrey June Burgette, '66, by naming the former Alexander Doniphan Room in Brown Hall in her honor. Audrey grew up in Liberty, was valedictorian of Garrison School and earned a degree at Jewell while raising four children. She later completed a master's degree and served Kansas City Public Schools for 26 years. #WomensHistoryMonth
