The
#NBA issued a letter to
#Nike in February 1985, notifying them that
#MichaelJordan's 'red and black NIKE basketball shoes' were in violation of the league's uniform regulations, specifically those dated 'on or around October 18, 1984.' ‼️🏀
This letter led to the uncertainty surrounding the shoes referenced in the letter, coupled with a Nike television advertisement from 1985 that implied the prohibited shoes were the Air Jordan 1 ‘Black/Red’ 🤔
However, the pair worn by Jordan was a ‘Black/Red’ Nike Air Ship PE. MJ initially introduced the AJ1 “Chicago” on November 17, 1984, before showcasing the AJ1 “Black/Red” during the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 1985 🏀
