It’s been six years since the Supreme Court granted same-sex couples the right to legally marry in the United States. It was June - Pride Month - and the LGBTQIA+ community, at once, celebrated. Their love, at long last, was validated and seen. Their love was (and is) real love. Today, we still celebrate with the LGBTQIA+ community and also recognize the continuing fight for rights that remain. And while we may exist in a culture where coming out is less stigmatized than it used to be (in the best positions of privilege, that is), it still remains a deeply personal and complicated decision.
