I’ve seen several posts of people saying they can’t imagine the everyday, black experience in America...to put is shortly (in this context), Racism is Real. Our brothers, sons, and fathers face real threats of being profiled, attacked, and killed just for being black. When I saw the video of Ahmaud’s murder, I thought about how that could have been my own brother, or my cousin, or my friend, and how wrong it is that young black men look “suspicious” just for being alive. How wrong it is that moms and sisters have to worry if their sons and brothers go to do simple things, will they come home. We have to worry if our bro and our friends have on sweats, a hoodie, or a backpack, will it make them look sketch. If they have a phone or a wallet in their pocket, will they look sketch. If they jog at the park, walk in a store, eat a burger, or exist near the scene of a crime, will they look sketch. All for the color of the...
