Today is #PearlHarborRemembranceDay - my grandfather was aboard the USS Pennsylvania during the attacks, lived to tell the story, and remained in the Navy for several years following. He’s no longer with us, but was great about saving items so that we could continue telling his story! This first photo, I figure all Angels fans can appreciate - it shows how the Navy got their sports news while at sea… and it looks like the Angels were mentioned back before they were a major league team, as part of the Pacific Coast League. The last one is the original telegram my grandfather & his brother sent home to tell their mother they were safe after the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Notice the date... imagine waiting that long!
