This Owlet was a good distance from me in low light. This photo is heavily cropped. I wasn’t able to capture the exchange but I watched the adult flyover to this little guy that started calling for the prey item. I honestly didn’t realize the adult had caught anything. I couldn’t see the salamander until after they had separated and the owlet gave me the stare down. I thought it was a snake until I got it home and was able to clearly see on the computer it was a little salamander. It was a nice surprise.
