Seattle Sounders’ Alex Roldán has abruptly announced his retirement from the El Salvador national team today because he is “disappointed” with their federation. 🇸🇻 Roldán, brother of USMNT’s Cristián Roldán, was born and raised in the U.S. to Guatemalan father and Salvadoran mother. He decided to represent El Salvador in 2021. “It’s a tough decision to make but it’s best that I allow someone else to have an opportunity,” Roldán said to reporters after training with Sounders. “I wasn’t fully commited and I was also just disappointed with the way things are operated over there.” He didn’t want to go into details about what exactly he was disappointed with.
