A brief prayer and blessing after completing a Tlacololero dance in veneration of St. Judas Tadeo, one of Jesus Christ's 12 apostles. . The Tlacololeros originated in Guerrero, Mexico and have roots in ancient Mexica where the dance was used to honor the rain god Tlaloc and to pray for a fertile harvest. With their elaborate, colorful costumes and coordinated dances, the Tlacloleros are now used to show honor and reverance during most major religious events, patron saint days (like this one), Christmas Eve and Easter. . . .
