I was absolutely blown away to walk up on this picture hanging on the wall in the National Museum of the Marine Corps. This picture was captured at Sgt Fernando Padilla's memorial service in Qalat Sikar Air Base, Iraq. As soon as I saw the picture, I knew it was Sgt Padilla's. It instantly took me back to that fateful day we spoke for the last time and the memorial held in his honor at Camp Coyote West shortly after. I couldn't hold back the tears, no matter how hard I tried. I live my life in Sgt Padilla's honor, as well as all the other brothers and sisters we've lost. I hope and pray that I can live my life in a way that would make him proud. Sgt Padilla, know that I think about you everyday and will never forget the price you paid. Semper Fi.
