Kane is not happy with the direction of the Hockey Diversity Alliance (HDA) On Friday he took to Twitter to voice his concerns stating that, “Unfortunately, my greatest concerns about our organization have come to fruition, and the HDA is now being led and influenced by members with individual agendas.” Part of this decision may have been influenced by the HDA’s critique of the NHL and NHLPA’s new Player Inclusion Coalition, calling it, “laughable” and “purely performative.” “As difficult and disappointing as this decision is today, I will continue to do my part in helping to grow the game of hockey for players of color,” Kane concluded.
