A year ago, I decided to take running more seriously than just jogging around. Ten months ago, I ran the Brooklyn Half and told myself I couldn’t get any faster. Last Sunday, I earned a fat PR (1:42:28) without specific half marathon training. Now, I don’t think I’ve peaked yet. I’ll never win races, but I’m happy to earn my small, personal Ws. Two takeaways: ▪️ Consistency pays off. ▪️ It’s easy to tie yourself to arbitrary limits that you place on yourself. Identify those random roadblocks and throw them away. — Ran in the brooksrunning Hyperions for all of my recent PRs. So happy to have them on my journey this year. Also recovered the next day in head-to-toe Brooks. #BrooksRunningCollective — Photog: max_esposito_ Sponsors: brooklynrunningco on — #running #nyrr #unitednychalf #marathoner #runningmotivation #halfmarathonpr #nychalf #BrooksPartner #medalmonday
