Mercer Island resident and legendary NBA player/coach Bill Russell has passed away at 88. Russell coached our Seattle Sonics for a period of time, was an all time historic winner and had a huge impact off of the court. Russell was an 11-time NBA champion, 5-time MVP, a member of the 25,50,75 NBA greatest teams, a Gold medalist, won two NBA titles as the first black head coach in North American pro sports, and so much more.
