At The College of Natural Sciences Learning Community we’re interested in investigating the roles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM. Recently, we’ve been challenging the idea of objectivity in science. Through the lens of “biological sex”, we looked into the past to understand the present. What we found from the start were the fingerprints of societal influence all over a sex binary we consider to be objective fact today. EDIT: after some feedback from a member of the trans community, we made an edit to slide 7 to reduce the confusion between gender and sex in reference to the term non-binary. #sexandscience #stemeducation #intersexpride #nonbinary
