Today is World Suicide Prevention Day and also marks six months since my nephew Max died by suicide. I can no longer scroll through my social media feed without feeling a pang of sadness when skateboarding clips show up. Sharing a last name, I often think of how he was confused yet fascinated when young Max learned why that is. I remember him when I see Sprite and recall how he and his older brother Carter asked their younger brother Owen to get them some, to which Owen replied, "Is that the one that looks like water?" I randomly remember the time he thought he and his family got to bring the entire Portillo's chocate cake home from a party because they brought it and it was untouched by the end. Memories of his and his brother's shenanigans during Christmases at my house are too funny and entertaining to ever be forgotten.
