Last week, I gave a talk at a moms in tech event and someone asked me *the* question. You know— the one men never seem to get asked. “How do you find time for your role while having two young children?” It was cringy and eye-rolly but I felt like I needed to answer and here’s what I said. “You will not have time for everything. You will have to lean back on some things in order to lean more fully into others.” As a mom of young kids, I am not able to work at all hours of the night and it’s mostly because I choose not to. I am probably leaning back a bit more right now so that I can lean into soaking up moments with my kiddos. That is perhaps not the popular working mom answer that would inspire younger women building their career but it’s my truth. What I realized is how just very fine I am with knowing that none of us—whether you have children or not— can do it all. And that is ok.
