Parents who are raising your family far from where you grew up— do you ever wish you could very much be in two places at once? When you’re home, it can be like taking a deep breath and getting to see your kiddos with their grandparents is a very special thing indeed. But at the same time, your heart is elsewhere. I very much wish we could somehow split ourselves between San Francisco (our home now), my home roots in the South and my husband’s in Germany. That the magic of all three places could seep into our kids. If anyone’s figured this out, let me know.
