Nassim Ashford, MPH ‘23, co-founded noirunited in 2020 as a response to the George Floyd protests and the global movement for racial justice and equality. This year, when he learned that Black students were being harassed while trying to flee Ukraine to neighboring countries, he and his NoirUnited co-founder teamed up with other organizations to raise $125,000. They provided for the students’ necessities, advocated for extensions of their refugee status, and helped them continue their education.
