#wlsfeb17photochallenge Day 8: My story. I've been fat since 1st grade and I've always had exceptional taste in shorts. I hated my body until maybe 7ish years ago, when I found the
#HAES and body positive communities online. Eventually, though, I was no longer healthy at my size and needed to do something about it. Diets never stuck for me, so I researched (and researched and researched and researched) surgical procedures. I originally wanted just the lap-band, but, surprise, it doesn't work for like 95% of patients who get it. Then I wanted
#vsg, the sleeve, but I already had horrid heartburn, so my surgeon advised against it. Finally settled on gastric bypass, went through like five years of insurance and employer bullshit, and had it done last September. Im closing in on 100lbs lost from my highest weight and it's nuts. There's. That's my story in as much detail as I can stand to type on Instagram.
