Today in #USOpenCup history (June 14, 1995): The "Modern Era" begins! For the 1st time in since the original #NASL began in 1967, teams from a top pro US league entered the US Open Cup. Four teams from the A-League, the #Atlanta Ruckus, the #Colorado Foxes, the #NewYork Centaurs & the #Seattle #Sounders defeated their USISL (pro) & USASA (amateur) opposition. Despite playing 75 minutes with 10 men, the Centaurs defeated the Connecticut Wolves (USISL Pro, Div. 3) 3-0 with a goal from future #USMNT defender Carlos Llamosa.
