On #CanadaDay The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, joins Veterans, supporters, and descendants of the men who fought for the Royal Newfoundland Regiment in the First World War to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel. The Royal Newfoundland Regiment was all but wiped out on 1 July 1916 during the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
