USC held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the $185 million Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience today. It took nearly seven years of construction, planning and designing to build the school’s largest building. Spinal surgeon Gary K. Michelson and his wife, Alya Michelson, donated $100 million to support the creation of the center. Hundreds of researchers and students from the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and Viterbi School of Engineering will use the world-class research center to develop therapies and diagnostic tools.
