Meet Mackenzie Brazzle! Join us as we discuss her intersecting identities!
"As a queer person who is an atheist, I
have learned that people will make horrible assumptions and will use their own religion to justify disapproving identities I have struggled to accept. It took me years to feel comfortable in who I was because I grew up in a town where Christianity and societal norms were of most importance. I wasn’t given the opportunity to defend myself because so many people were against who I was.
Coming to ISU was the first time I was able to freely explore my gender and sexuality without the fear of other people’s beliefs forcing me to fit into a box."
