Day five of protests in Omaha. On Tuesday many people gathered in front of the Douglas County Courthouse to voice their thoughts and concerns on the death of James Scurlock and George Floyd. Many also told stories of how they have dealt with racial discrimination and what the community needs to do stop it. Many of those who spoke were black and there was a strong push for black people to speak, mainly because these issues effected them. On Wednesday morning the mayor decided not to impose another curfew. This decision was most likely made due to the announcement the county attorney calling for a grand jury review of the death of James Scurlock. Also the three other officers were charged in the murder of George Floyd. Personally I hope people do not stop fighting for black lives and that these protests encourage people to hold the police accountable for their actions. • • • #georgefloydprotest #blacklivesmatter #blm #jamesscurlock #justiceforjamesscurlock #justiceforgeorgefloyd ...
