Bob Izumi (93yrs) and his family were sent to Manzanar in 1942. The chair I photographed him in was his father’s and one of the few items he was able to take with them to Manzanar. Bob was able to leave the interment camp to finish his high school in Iowa. After his graduation he enlisted to the Army and the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, but later joined the 101st Airborne Division, B Company. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was involved in capturing of the Eagle’s Nest, Hitler’s hideout.
