First time skiing a slide! I wasn’t planning on skiing this line, I just went out for a mild tour up the whiteface auto road. Once I got to the base of the slide, I saw Josh (whom I just met) 50 feet up. I yelled up and after learning that he was a avy level 2 instructor I followed him up to where he was digging a snow pit for the DEC. I learned a lot from this experience and checked off a bucket list item. It’s remarkable how lucky the timing of this encounter was.
