[February 18, 2021] - Got to enjoy this beautiful bluebird day with the beautiful Nat K and pushed ourself outside our comfort zones. Neither of us had gone up a mountain in the winter before and didn’t know exactly what to expect. We set out with snow shoes, micro spikes, several hours of daylight, 3 miles to hike and about 1500+ feet of elevation to gain. We conquered our first winter mountain and although it wasn’t a high peak, we certainly couldn’t be happier with our hike selection. At the summit we were met with a stunning 360 degree views and a fire tower, which we didn’t go in. In the end I’ll say that winter hiking is very tough, but very rewarding.
