OVERCOMING OBSTACLES If overcoming obstacles was a picture, you’d see Le'Shekia Hines Coleman. Le'Shekia completed her time at #CCT in 2014. She took advantage of our education scholarship funds while with us, and began taking classes to obtain her Funeral Mortuary and Science Associate's Degree. Upon release, she continued her studies and graduated. Before practicing in her field of study, she had to go before the NC Board of Funeral Services in order to begin working in the field due to her criminal background… one of many barriers our clients face.  Now here comes the really good part: Le'Shekia was determined and was accepted by the board to practice her field of study! In January, Governor Roy Cooper chose her to be a member of the NC Board of Funeral Services!
