Leslie Sophia Perez prepares to get into makeup and costume for the role of Lorena in the play Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter at Steppenwolf Theater. When Leslie received the role, she had to make a sacrifice. She had to put aside her studies at DePaul University and go on a leave of absence to commit to the production. “Leaving school was very hard. I don’t regret it though because of the opportunity.
