Quilts of Valor has donated more than 200,000 handmade quilts to veterans in all 50 states. Morgan Holtz started the Chicago chapter in 2018 after requesting a quilt for her father, George. Holtz is the primary caretaker of her father, who joined the Air Force in 1962 and served in Vietnam. The group recently held a sew-in at the nationalveteransartmuseum in Chicago. .
