Meet Marlena (Fuller) Jenkins, a trailblazing 3rd-year educational leadership doctoral student at COEHS who has been chosen as a Circle Up Intern with CAST (Center for Applied Special Technology). Circle Up is an "Integrated Whole-School Model to Address Learners’ Social-Emotional and Learning Needs" using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. This research is sure to transform how educators and learners view Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in relation to Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) for staff and students, and family engagement. This research is made possible through the funding of the US. Department of Education 's Education Innovation and Research (EIR) grant program, which supports innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing student achievement and attainment for high-need students.
