Boo, a well-loved grizzly bear who lives at a ski resort in Golden, British Columbia, was filmed emerging from under piles of snow as he woke from hibernation on March 12, 2024. #bear #grizzlybear #hibernation #canada #shorts #snow Video of the moment was posted by Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, where, since being orphaned in 2003, the 22-year-old Boo has occupied a 20-acre refuge, according to local media. “Boo had sensed the warm weather and decided to come out and enjoy some of the sunshine! He will be in and out of his den over the next few weeks,” Kicking Horse Mountain Resort wrote on social media. “It’s good to see you, big guy,” they added. It can take a few weeks for bears to fully wake up after hibernating, and as of March 20, Boo was “still adjusting, moving slowly and sleeping for much of his day,” according to his carers. “We continue to ask everyone to be quiet when around the refuge and let the big guy adjust with minimal disruption,” they said.
