To celebrate International Peace Day on September 21, thousands of soccer games around the world are played as part of "One Day One Goal". CISV Chattanooga is again hosting a One Day One Goal soccer event at Highland Park Commons this Friday, September 21. Elementary students from the CFC Foundation's Operation Get Active and local high school students will participate in organized soccer matches designed to promote peace through sportsmanship and team building. From matches uniting the police and residents of a favela in Brazil, to football clinics for evacuated children in the Philippines, One Day One Goal clearly illustrates the power of soccer to unite people, give hope, and strengthen peace-building efforts while raising awareness of Peace Day, 21 September.
