In honor of #worlddownsyndromeday, we’d like to share our collective understanding of what inclusion means to our team. Here at IIG, we believe that celebrating everyone’s unique gifts cultivates community! On this special day, we want to highlight our partnerships with Shepherd Hotels and their community. A little over 3 years ago, we were tapped to design @shepherdhotels, a 67-room boutique hotel in downtown Clemson. The mission for this project is to train and employ individuals with intellectual disabilities. In association with the @clemsonlife program, students, graduates, and local peers will help staff the hotel and have played an integral role in creating the artwork displayed throughout the project. On March 10th, the students had a blast creating 174 canvases. Throughout the day, they couldn’t stop saying how much FUN they were having and how excited they were to see their work displayed!
