The centre-back has rejoined the club where he began his journey as a player. Back in 1995, he trained with the club (then known as Tiong Bahru United) before joining Balestier. He returned for a second stint in 2000, where he was recognised with the league's Player of the Year award a year later. From then, Bennett went on to amass a huge collection of honours - 5 league titles and 4 Singapore Cup wins. He is also Singapore's most capped player with 142 international appearances and has won 3 AFF Suzuki Cups.
