Can you imagine sports without Serena Williams, Tiger Woods or LeBron James? You can’t, right? There once was a time when African-American athletes weren't allowed to be on the same playing field as white athletes. Fortunately, there were African-American athletes who ignored the racial slurs and death threats that were hurled their way and devoted their lives to make the world of sports more equal for all athletes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Till this day, Arthur Ashe remains the only African-American male to win Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, or Australian Open. His contributions on the tennis court were just the beginning of his impact. He was a tireless spokesman for a variety of causes, including the American Civil Rights Movement, and the push for equality for undocumented immigrants in the United States. #blackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonth2019
