In 1961, the U.S. government, under contract MIL-W-22176A, was looking to supply their sailors with a watch that would withstand the rigors of modern scuba diving. Many manufacturers attempted to win the contract, but a watch supplied by Allen Tornek was the only one to meet all of the numerous and specific demands set forth by the Navy.
However, the Tornek-Rayville TR-900 was more than meets the eye. It was an incognito Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Curious? Our digital catalog has the full story. Learn more in the link in bio. We are thrilled to offer this watch in the Important Watches sale on 7 December during
#SothebysNewYork's Luxury Week, presented in partnership with genesishousenyc.
