The Patek Philippe Reference 1513 was only produced for ten years, between 1941 and 1951. While it has the typical sober elegance of the pieces produced during those years, its oversized diameter of 35mm adds some character to the piece, nicely balanced by the details of the case band and the thin curved lugs. The model was mostly produced in stainless steel, yellow and pink gold, with the rarest version by far being the one pictured here, combining pink gold and stainless steel. Only two other examples of this colorway are known to exist, and this one in particular is fitted with a pink salmon dial, further enhancing its collectability. Offered in the ‘Fine Watches’ auction at #SothebysParis, open for bidding online until 29 September.
